The film 47 Meters Down is a horror survival film and was directed by Johannes Roberts. This fictional story, which has received mixed reviews, was written by Johannes Roberts and Ernest Riera.
47 Metres Down starred Claire Holt and Mandy Moore, who played two sisters who are invited to cage dive whilst on holiday in Mexico.
The plot unwinds as the winch system which is holding the shark cage breaks. The cage, with Lisa (Mandy Moore) and Kate (Claire Holt) inside, sinks to the bottom of the seabed (to 47 metres down to be precise).
The two sisters are trapped inside the shark cage and are surrounded by great white sharks. They need to find a way to escape, as their air supplies are running low…
47 Metres Down was released in the United States on 16 June 2017, and in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2017. The film grossed over $62 million worldwide against a budget of about $5 million, making it a box office success.
