Japan Pirate Whaling country to ignore the ban on killing whales
Quote from Russell Bowyer on 26/12/2018, 7:11 pmJapan has announced it will commence commercial whaling in July 2019
I was disappointed to hear on the radio today that Japan will become a pirate nation and will ignore the ban on commercial whaling.
Not that Japan ever did stop whaling in the first place. They have covered up their so called whaling, as research.
I don’t call the killing of between 200 and 1,200 whales each year research. I’d call that slaughter! The meat from the whales for research is eaten. Whilst this is a good thing so that the meat isn’t wasted, but I can’t see why so many need to be slaughtered in the first place.
I hope the Japanese listen to reason, but if they don’t, the world can get behind a ban on Japanses goods. We could all stop buying Japanese cars, Japanese cameras or whatever else they make.
I had an argument in the car with my wife over this. She said it’s not Toyta’s fault the Japanese government decided to hunt whales again. But if pressure was brought to bear in companies like Toyota, they would have to speak to their government.
The only currency that seems to work these days is money.
Money speaks, economic pressure works.

I’d be interested to here your thoughts on commercial whaling, it would be good to hear what you have to say if you are Japanese and eat whale.
