Straits of Tiran dive guide, best time to dive, and what to expect

The Straits of Tiran lie at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba and are known for four major reefs: Jackson, Woodhouse, Thomas and Gordon. Strong water movement feeds rich coral growth and can bring schooling fish and larger pelagic species.

The reefs and exact dive sites visited depend on currents, weather and the selected liveaboard route.

Best time to dive: Year-round; April to June and September to November generally provide warm water and favourable conditions.
