Wisesa Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Wisesa Liveaboard review to help you choose the right liveaboard with confidence. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

SDE Liveaboard Rating – Underwater Photographer Features for the Wisesa Liveaboard

My score of the Wisesa liveaboard is 2/5 on the SDE Underwater Photographer Rating, as it has 2 of the 5 key photographer facilities (see below).

The Wisesa liveaboard offers a separate rinse tank for underwater cameras, which is crucial for protecting expensive camera equipment from scratches and damage. Also a dedicated camera tank avoids any risks that can arise from sharing space with general diving gear, such as regulators, wetsuits, and heavy fins to avoid contamitation from sand, salt, debris and any chemicals.

In addition, it provides dedicated charging stations for cameras, strobes, torches and laptops so your batteries are always topped up and ready for your next dive.

Below I've listed the 5 key underwater photographer features for the Wisesa liveaboard, where for this liveaboard it includes 2 of the 5 key features.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Trip of a Lifetime. I was genuinely impressed by the boat and everything on the Wisesa. The open style of the boat allowed for a great atmosphere and very comfortable accommodations. The diving itself was absolutely amazing- with the DM and CD doing amazing jobs the entire week of ensuring we had the best dive sites (and all to ourselves) and all of our needs met. The food was great- varying options every day to fit all preferences. The rooms were kept clean for us and the crew attended to any requests. The boat itself is in great condition and really contributed to a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Best liveaboard trip I’ve been on and it will be tough for other boats to compete!! Thanks guys, had a blast.”

Recommended for: The people (crew, DM and CD), The diving (obviously amazing) and the boat - perfect accommodations to relax in between dives
