NusaTara Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this NusaTara Liveaboard review to help you confidently choose and book the right liveaboard. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Amazing holiday, fantastic diving, knowledgeable crew, comfortable boat. 1 Marine life and corals in south Komodo are outstanding! 2 Amazing above water scenery and land excursions 3 Awesome crew doing their best and meeting interesting people”

Recommended for: We sailed in November during full moon and experience ever changing currents and otherwise perfect weather.Dive site on south and central route present reefs full of marine life from macro to mantas and sharks. Dive guides Wayan and Paldy were helpful spotting rare camouflaged critters we would never see without their eagle eyes! Nusatara is as advertised, older but reasonably equipped and maintained, everything is in working order .Comfortable cabins with AC and private en-suite. Crew is attentive and helpful, good food with something for everyone. Land excursions to Rinca Island is added bonus on last day of the trip.Truly memorable trip.

All Indonesia's Discounted Liveaboard Deals & Last Minute Discounts

All liveaboard reviews on this site are written based on my real diving experience, from hundreds of dives across reefs, wreck dives, shark dives, deep dives, night dives and drysuit diving.

I’ve cold water dived in the UK, warm water dived from many of the Caribbean islands, dived both the east and west coasts of Australia, the Red Sea, South Africa and dived the east and west coasts of the USA, and I’ve also spent time and enjoyed diving from liveaboards myself too.

My aim; to always give you clear, honest, practical advice, so you can book the right dive boat and enjoy the best possible liveaboard diving holiday, be that on the NusaTara Liveaboard or any other liveaboard I've reviewed on Scuba Diving Earth.
