Toon Town Liveaboard Dive Site

Toon Town is a clear-water reef in the protected Cayos Cochinos archipelago, with coral gardens and a deeper edge. The reef offers a flexible depth range, allowing newer divers to remain shallow while experienced divers explore the outer slope. Current is usually manageable but still depends on wind and tide.

The Bay Islands are known for warm Caribbean water, coral walls and abundant reef life, but each site has its own reason to be included. At Toon Town, divers should slow down enough to notice the reef as well as looking into open water. Turtles, rays, groupers, jacks and barracuda are all possible, while sponges, sea fans, moray eels and smaller reef fish reward a closer look.

The distance from Roatán makes Toon Town a natural liveaboard site. Staying among the islands avoids a long outward and return crossing and gives the crew time to include more than one Cayos Cochinos reef. Night diving may be possible on the wider itinerary, but the crew selects a sheltered site according to conditions; Toon Town should only be treated as the night-dive location when the operator confirms it.

The site combines well with Pelican Point and Coco’s Sea Mount, giving the itinerary a useful change of depth, terrain or diving style. A dive computer and surface marker buoy are sensible throughout the Bay Islands. Nitrox is useful for repetitive diving when the diver is qualified and the operator provides it.
