Raggedy Cay is a south-side reef around a small cay, with coral heads, sand patches and a sloping edge. The site can be calm enough for less experienced divers, but tide may turn it into a moderate drift. Following the guide and carrying a surface marker buoy keeps the finish straightforward.

The Bay Islands are known for warm Caribbean water, coral walls and abundant reef life, but each site has its own reason to be included. At Raggedy Cay, divers should slow down enough to notice the reef as well as looking into open water. Turtles, rays, groupers, jacks and barracuda are all possible, while sponges, sea fans, moray eels and smaller reef fish reward a closer look.

Raggedy Cay is reachable by day boat, but liveaboards can use it for an early check dive or select it for a dusk or night dive when lobsters and other nocturnal animals become active. Night diving may be possible on the wider itinerary, but the crew selects a sheltered site according to conditions; Raggedy Cay should only be treated as the night-dive location when the operator confirms it.

The site combines well with Jack Neil Point and Hawksbill Bank, giving the itinerary a useful change of depth, terrain or diving style. A dive computer and surface marker buoy are sensible throughout the Bay Islands. Nitrox is useful for repetitive diving when the diver is qualified and the operator provides it.
