Pearl of Papua Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Pearl of Papua Liveaboard review to help you choose the right liveaboard with confidence. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Wonderful liveaboard with VIP service!! 10/10 liveaboard!!! The crew set up and broke down our gear and all we had to do was double check gear and walk to tender boat. We never had to lift or carry tanks. VIP service! Crew likes their job and it shows. Boat owner, Yayu, was with us on trip and was so friendly and fun to get to know. Arif, the cruise director was excellent and also very fun. We did misool area of raja which has incredible corals, both soft and hard. If you want to see more sharks and overall marine life, try central and north raja. Weather was rainy in morning and evening in early December. Weather was better in February. Me and everyone on board are already planning our next liveaboard on pearl of papua. Awesome experience!!!!!”

Recommended for: Crew worked so hard. Incredible diving. Great food.
