The best choice for North Andaman! It was our first liveaboard experience and we loved Mandarin Queen team and we are sure that we did a really nice choice by choosing them. Everything was very comfortable and the team was just amazing! We have been diving for many years and our dive guide, Toky, was the most experienced and relaxed guy we have ever seen. The rooms and decks were super comfortable and there were super delicious 4 -5 courses food everyday. The staff prepared all the equipment for us, we just wore them and jumped into the water. I highly recommend Mandarin Queen 9. Special thanks to Toky, Picknik and all the staff on board.”

Mandarin Queen 9 Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Mandarin Queen 9 Liveaboard review to help you choose the right liveaboard with confidence. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

The Mandarin Queen 9 liveaboard has a dedicated camera station close to the dive deck, which lets you gear up quickly, check your housing and swap batteries or memory cards between dives. In addition, it offers a separate rinse tank for underwater cameras, which is crucial for protecting expensive camera equipment from scratches and damage.

Also a dedicated camera tank avoids any risks that can arise from sharing space with general diving gear, such as regulators, wetsuits, and heavy fins to avoid contamitation from sand, salt, debris and any chemicals. Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Highly recommended with an amazing crew and meals onboard that just gets better everyday. The North Andaman Sea is an absolute gem, home to an incredible variety of dive sites bursting with vibrant marine life, every dive felt like a new adventure. But what truly made this trip unforgettable was the phenomenal crew onboard. Their attention to detail was second to none, with everything running like clockwork thanks to their seamless organisation and clear, friendly communication. The boat was not only well-equipped with all the facilities we needed, including thoughtful touches like dedicated camera stations, but the crew went above and beyond to make us feel cared for. They proactively labelled our dive gear with our names and were always ready to lend a hand, helping us gear up with such ease and efficiency that all we had to do was focus on enjoying the dives. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality turned a great trip into an extraordinary one.”

Recommended for: Service from the crew. Delicious meals. Modern facilities and boat design.
