Better then expected. On the trip we saw everything you can see in Maldives: 3 whale sharks, 30 manta rays, schools of white , black tip sharks, grey reef sharks, tiger shark, guitar shark, school of spinner sharks, giant hammerhead. The crew took us on the best dive sites, and almost everywhere we were the only boat. Staff was kind and they did everything for us. The room was very comfortable. The only thing I would change is about food. I would like to have more local food and fish dishes and less Eurpean. Otherwise 10/10 Will come back”

Iruvai Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Iruvai Liveaboard review to help you confidently choose and book the right liveaboard. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Diving and price great, but quality poor. The best part was the diving, simply because there is a lot of underwater life. The dive sites are very good. The cabins are very good. And the price is low. But unfortunately, the other one was below average. I also have to say this boat was not supposed to start this week because the customers were missing and in the last 2 days we decided differently as there were several reservations. And that's why I guess a B-team was brought in, as examples: second "dive master" couldn't even dive (no proper buoyancy, constant blows on the corals), chaotic organization in the boat and under water, the cook can't cook (all the fish and chicken was cooked too long and therefore hard), and the worst thing was .... no spare equipment (no extra regulators, tanks, fins, masks and NO dive lights).”
