Emperor Serenity Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Emperor Serenity Liveaboard review to help you choose the right liveaboard with confidence. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Scuba Christmas trip. Diving: the briefings were very thorough and fun, the dive sites were well-chosen and delivered virtually all marine life we hoped to see. Transfer from the main boat to the dhoni to go diving was very smooth with easy access to the dive sites. Our dive guide was professional and respected our wishes and experience level, though a bit shy. Boat & cabin: the boat was fairly new so certainly in excellent state. Maintenance and cleanliness was better than we experienced on a previous liveaboard trip. The cabin size is good, the bathroom is spacious and homely. Food: as my wife is Malaysian, she is very critical of food but felt the food on this trip was "amazing". The cooks managed to prepare lots of delicious food with plenty variety. They made a birthday cake for me on the first night without us having requested it. The BBQ on the beach, Christmas dinner, Maldivian night dinner and so on, were all superb. Overall, the level of customer service was exquisite, the crew really went out of their way to make the trip as enjoyable as it could be. Highly recommended!”

Recommended for: Diving. Boat & cabin. Food.
