Anne Bonny Liveaboard Review - Expert Guide to Choosing Your Liveaboard

Russell Bowyer here. I've written this Anne Bonny Liveaboard review to help you confidently choose and book the right liveaboard. As a qualified diving instructor and Advanced BSAC Diver with 500+ dives worldwide, I've helped countless divers pick their perfect liveaboard - whether it's your first time liveaboard or you're an experienced diver seeking your next adventure.

Read more about Russell's diving experience

My diving experience spans cold-water UK drysuit dives, warm coral reefs in the Caribbean, the Red Sea, the Great Barrier Reef, and South Africa. As a former BSAC Diving Officer and diving instructor, I've taught many people to dive and taken a lot of the divers I taught on their first dive. I also used to organise and run dive trips in the UK, with one of my favourites being expeditions to the Farne Islands to dive with the seals. I've logged every type of dive: decompression stop deep dives, wreck dives, shark dives, night dives, drift dives, and everything in between. This hands-on experience means I know exactly what makes a great liveaboard experience, having dived from liveaboards myself and loved it. This is why I came up with the SDE Liveaboard Rating* to help you choose the best liveaboard for you.

SDE Liveaboard Rating – Underwater Photographer Features for the Anne Bonny Liveaboard

My score of the Anne Bonny Liveaboard is 3/5 on the SDE Underwater Photographer Rating, as it has 3 of the 5 key photographer facilities (see below).

The Anne Bonny Liveaboard offers a separate rinse tank for underwater cameras, which is crucial for protecting expensive camera equipment from scratches and damage. Also a dedicated camera tank avoids any risks that can arise from sharing space with general diving gear, such as regulators, wetsuits, and heavy fins to avoid contamitation from sand, salt, debris and any chemicals.

In addition, it provides dedicated charging stations for cameras, strobes, torches and laptops so your batteries are always topped up and ready for your next dive. What’s more, it has free WiFi internet onboard, which makes it easier to back up RAW files to the cloud and share images with friends and family while you are at sea.

Below I've listed the 5 key underwater photographer features for the Anne Bonny Liveaboard, where for this liveaboard it includes 3 of the 5 key features.

Customer review from Liveaboard.com

Phenomenal!!! Do yourself a favor, just book now! We’ve never experienced a crew that takes such pride in their craft. The Anne Bonny is a sexy, elegant boutique boat. Our cabin was private & comfortable with plenty of storage. The crew & service exceeded any expectations we could have had. Especially Lolita & Super Sam! Lolita is one of the most professional & thorough dive masters we’ve experienced. She also gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our Indonesia adventures. There’s nothing Super Sam can’t do. The food & drink aboard are worth booking alone! Every course, every meal! Expect to add couple extra Kg to your dive gear. No joke, the food is incredible! I would recommend bringing cash before departing & bringing your own dive gear if possible. Rental gear onboard is in good condition & quality, but I’d prefer comfort & familiarity for more technical dives.”
