San Cristobal Liveaboard Dive Site

San Cristóbal is an island and diving area rather than one fixed dive site. Its surrounding reefs, rocks and channels offer encounters with Galápagos sea lions, turtles, rays, reef sharks and schooling fish. Depending on the exact location, hammerheads and other pelagic species may also appear.

Conditions vary considerably around the island. Sheltered coastal dives can be straightforward, while exposed rocks and channels may have stronger current and require more experience. The ranges shown here are therefore representative, and divers should confirm the actual site and minimum experience with the operator.

San Cristóbal supports local day-boat diving, so a liveaboard is not the only option. The advantage of staying aboard is the ability to link several islands and reach a site early without returning to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno after each day.
