Is there a weight limit to scuba diving?

Some ask whether there’s a weight limit to scuba diving.

The simple answer is no there isn’t a weight limit.

But scuba diving is a sport and as like most sports, scuba diving requires a certain level of fitness to participate.

So whilst there isn’t a weight limit to learn to dive, you may wish to consider the implications for you if you are excessively over weight or have other health related issues.

I always suggest you seek medical advice from a doctor if you have any doubts.

The other consideration for you if you are over weight is buying your scuba gear. This is particularly true of your wetsuit or dry suit.

It’s important to get a wetsuit or a dry suit  that fits you well, otherwise it will not work properly underwater.
