Vicente is a reef and wall dive in Jardines de la Reina, valued for healthy coral structure and the chance to see large Caribbean fish in a protected setting. Gorgonians, sponges and black coral grow along the reef, while groupers, tarpon, jacks and barracuda may be joined by Caribbean reef sharks. The site rewards a steady pace rather than a race to cover distance.

Published guides describe Vicente as one of the area’s stronger reef dives, with profiles that can extend to around 40 metres. The exact route is chosen for the group, and recreational divers should stay within their certification and agreed depth. An intermediate rating is appropriate because remote boat diving, possible current and deeper wall options require more awareness than a sheltered beginner reef.

Like the other Jardines de la Reina sites, Vicente is practically reached by liveaboard. The protected archipelago lies far from mainland day-boat operations. Staying within the Gardens of the Queen allows several dives per day, gives the crew flexibility to avoid unsuitable current and makes it possible to combine the site with a broader range of walls and shark dives.

Pipin offers coral canyons and regular large-animal encounters, while Farallon is distinguished by tunnels through its coral formation. Black Coral provides another shark-focused wall. These nearby alternatives matter because a responsible itinerary changes with conditions rather than guaranteeing Vicente on a particular day.

Some Cuba liveaboard itineraries include a night dive at a suitable location selected by the crew. Vicente may or may not be used. A torch is still useful during the day for inspecting shaded parts of the reef, and a dive computer, surface marker buoy and nitrox certification are valuable across repetitive dives.
